Stacked and Boutique Bows...Oh My!

I had some extra ribbon after making a dress for my daughter and decided it was time to try the ultimate baby girl accessory....boutique bows!

I had NO idea these things were the hot commodity that they are. When I found out people were actually paying $15 for a bow, I knew I had to push up my sleeves and have a knack it myself!

These are super simple and easy to make. It only takes a few minutes of your time and a touch of creativity. In the end you save $$$ and get to enjoy the satisfaction of making something for your child.

All you need are:
1. Various sizes of ribbon with corresponding colors
2. Hot glue gun or tacky glue
3. Thread (any color)
4. Lighter

My very first stacked boutique bow!

On the above pictured bow, I started with a simple stacked bow. That simply means that different bows have been "stacked" into a bigger bow.

On the bottom I cut out 4-6" length ribbon and combined them by circling thread around the middle and tying close.
On top of that I placed a large boutique bow. This took about 18" of ribbon and I followed a simple tutorial on youtube.com. I held it together by again circling the middle with thread and tying close.
The last bow was a simple 8-figure that I left the ends on. The same thread method was used.
Finally, I glued a rhinestone on top.

Once my individual bows were made, I hot glued them one on top of the other. Also, I used the lighter to quickly singe the edges of the all the ribbon to stop future fraying. To finalize the project, I hot glued a hair clip underneath everything.

Second stacked boutique bow using surround-a-bow as base

For my second bow, I used the same methods and techniques, I only employed different ribbons designs.

There is a surround-a-bow on bottom, tutorial is on youtube.com. And a flower instead of a rhinestone on top.
All the bow styles can be found on youtube.com.

These were super easy and my first try so hopefully after more Practice they will start looking more professional. Give it a try and let me know how it turned out! Happy Ribboning!!!
